Lusail Sports Club held its pre-match press conference today, Wednesday, 4 November 2026, ahead of its upcoming fixture against Qatar SC in Round 9 of the 2026–2027 Doha Bank Stars League.

The press conference was attended by Portuguese head coach Emmanuel Mesquita, first-team player Ali Naemati, and members of the media.

Lusail will face Qatar SC on Sunday, 8 November 2026, at Al Khor Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 5:15 PM.

Speaking at the beginning of the press conference, head coach Emmanuel Mesquita stressed that Lusail are aiming for a positive result and all three points, as they look to build on their momentum following a 2–1 victory over Al Sailiya in the previous round.

Commenting on the upcoming fixture, the coach said: “Every match is equally important to us. At Lusail Club, we always prepare thoroughly for every game and give our very best to achieve victory.”

He continued: “We remain focused on our approach and philosophy, and the results are a reflection of the hard work we put in. It was important for us to secure another three points in our previous match against Al Sailiya. However, we are aiming for more and want to collect as many points as possible. We will approach the Qatar SC match with a winning mentality, determined to continue our victories in the Doha Bank Stars League.”

He added: “Things have been difficult for Lusail because we have not been treated in the same way as the other teams. We have played only one match at home, and we are now preparing to play our third match at a stadium without air conditioning. Meanwhile, other teams have played five matches at home, and none of them have played at a stadium without air conditioning.”

For his part, Lusail first-team player Ali Naemati confirmed that the team is ready for the upcoming Round 9 encounter against Qatar SC, highlighting the players' determination to maintain their winning momentum and secure a positive result.

Speaking during the press conference, Naemati said: “We have a difficult match ahead against Qatar SC. They are a good team and deserve respect. We must give our very best to achieve our objective, which is to win.”

He continued: “Thank God, we managed to win our previous match against Al Sailiya. It was a difficult encounter, but that game is now behind us and has come to an end. Our focus is currently on the next match, which is the most important one for us, and we must maintain our concentration.”

He concluded: “Every match is difficult, and there are no easy games at this stage. We must focus solely on our next match and give it our full attention.”
