The press conference was attended by Portuguese head coach Emmanuel Mesquita, first-team player Abdullah Makki, and representatives of the media.

Lusail will face Al Duhail on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, the home ground of Al Duhail, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45 PM.

During the press conference, Lusail head coach Emmanuel Mesquita began by emphasizing that his team would aim to deliver its usual level of performance and secure a positive result.

Speaking ahead of the match, Mesquita said: “Our preparations for the match against Al Duhail have been good this week. The team delivered a positive performance in our previous match against Al Shamal, where we managed to secure a draw. Now, we must continue working and prepare properly for our upcoming match against Al Duhail.”

He added: “Al Duhail may currently be the most prepared team in the league, which will present a significant challenge for us. Nevertheless, we will strive to deliver an outstanding performance and achieve a positive result.”

The coach continued: “We played a good match against Al Shamal in the previous round, and we are looking to maintain our positive performances and earn points against Al Duhail. The support of Lusail fans is a great source of motivation for us, and their encouragement is extremely important. We promise them that we will give everything we have to make them proud of the team.”

Meanwhile, Abdullah Makki, a first-team player at Lusail Sports Club, confirmed that the team is ready for its Round 7 encounter against Al Duhail in the Doha Bank Stars League.

Speaking at the press conference, Makki said: “Al Duhail is a big team with outstanding players, so naturally, this will be a difficult match that requires a high level of concentration throughout. However, we will play in our usual style and aim to control the flow of the game.”

He continued: “We have worked very hard in training over the past period, and the coach has focused on tactical aspects to ensure that we are physically and mentally prepared. We are ready to give our best in this match.”

Asked about the goalless draw against Al Shamal in the previous match, Makki said: “The draw was not the result we were hoping for, but we have learned from our mistakes. We are continuously working to improve our collective performance in the Doha Bank Stars League so that we can achieve better results in the matches ahead.”
