Lusail SC Press Conference Ahead of the Match Against Al-Shahania in Round 5 of the Doha Bank Stars League 2026–2027
Lusail Sports Club held a press conference today, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, ahead of its match against Al-Shahania Club in Round 5 of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2026–2027 season.
The press conference was attended by Portuguese head coach Emanuel Mesquita, team player Abdulhadi Qadr Al-Aoun, and representatives of the media. Lusail will face Al-Shahania next Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Khalifa International Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 5:45 PM.Speaking at the press conference, Lusail head coach Emanuel Mesquita emphasized that the team’s objective in the upcoming match is to maintain the strong performances it has shown in previous games and build on the positive atmosphere within the squad following the good results achieved in recent rounds.
Commenting on preparations for the match, the coach said: “The preparations for the match have been very good this week. The international break was useful for improving certain details, especially as the team also had a very good period of rest.”
He added: “We know that Al-Shahania are a very good team, and the match will be a major challenge for both sides. We hope to continue achieving positive results. That is always our objective: to collect as many points as possible.”
He continued: “In my opinion, the QSL Cup is a very good competition. It was a good opportunity to give players who have not featured much the playing time they deserve on the pitch. For me, as a coach, this competition is very interesting.”
For his part, Abdulhadi Qadr Al-Aoun, a first-team player at Lusail SC, confirmed that the team is ready to face Al-Shahania in Round 5 of the Doha Bank Stars League.
Speaking at the press conference, the player said: “Certainly, following the break, we focused on regaining our physical and technical readiness. The training sessions during the past period were very intense, and we tried to be in the best possible condition as the Doha Bank Stars League resumed. Thankfully, we are ready and aiming to put in a good performance and achieve a positive result.”
He continued: “The QSL Cup matches helped us a lot, as they contributed to maintaining our physical fitness and focus and gave us the opportunity to remain in the rhythm of competitive matches. Certainly, we have great confidence, especially given the tremendous work being done by the coaching staff and the players. God willing, we will maintain the same level and continue achieving positive results with Lusail SC.”
