Lusail Draw 1–1 with Al Waab in the Second Round of the QSL Cup

Lusail’s first football team drew 1–1 with Al Waab in the second round of the QSL Cup, in the match played between the two teams this evening at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium at Al Ahli Club.

With this draw, Lusail’s points tally increased to 4, the same number of points held by Al Waab.

Portuguese coach Emanuel Mesquita started the match with the following lineup: Arsha Shakouri in goal; Amin Ali Reza, Ali Malallah, Franco Russo, Saud Ali, George Stoyanovski, Hamed Reza Firozi, Abdulhadi Qadr Al-Aoun, Amat Ndiaye, Thiago Ghos, and Mohammed Khan.

Lusail entered the match determined to secure their second consecutive victory after defeating Al Markhiya 1–0 in the previous round. The team created several chances against Al Waab goalkeeper Mohammed Montaser, but failed to convert them into goals.

Al Waab, meanwhile, took the lead through Mohammed Al Hassan in the 35th minute, ending the first half with Al Waab ahead 1–0.

In the second half, Lusail came out strongly in search of an equalizer. Their efforts paid off when George Stoyanovski converted a penalty in the 65th minute to make it 1–1.

Both teams continued to look for a winning goal during the remaining minutes, but neither side was able to find the breakthrough, and the match ended in a 1–1 draw.
