Lusail Held to a Goalless Draw by Al Gharafa in the Fourth Round of the Doha Bank Stars League

Our first-team football side, Lusail SC, played out a goalless draw against Al Gharafa in the match between the two teams today at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the fourth round of the 2026–2027 Doha Bank Stars League season.

Our head coach, Portuguese manager Emmanuel Mesquita, started the match with the following lineup: Arsha Shakouri in goal, Amin Ali Reza, Franco Russo, Mohammed Ayash, Omid Ebrahimi, Farhad Ismail, Hamed Reza Firoozi, Nayef Al Hadhrami, Khaled Mohammed, Ali Nemati, and Rodrigo Moreno.

Our team entered the match with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to continue its winning run following a 4–0 victory over Al Wakrah in the previous match. Al Gharafa, meanwhile, were hoping to turn things around after a series of disappointing results in recent rounds.

Both teams showed a clear desire to secure the win, making for a competitive and physically strong encounter, with defensive solidity and attacking intensity from both sides as they looked to claim all three points.

During the first half, our team attempted to break through Al Gharafa’s defense, relying on the attacking trio of Farhad Ismail, Hamed Reza Firoozi, and Rodrigo Moreno. However, the efforts did not result in any goals, and the first half ended 0–0.

In the second half, our team continued its attempts to reach the Al Gharafa penalty area and open the scoring. Farhad Ismail came close to giving Lusail the lead in the 68th minute, but Al Gharafa goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar denied the opportunity.

Despite both sides creating opportunities during the remaining minutes, neither team was able to find the back of the net, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

With the draw, Lusail moved to 5 points and currently sit fourth in the standings, while Al Gharafa reached 4 points and occupy eighth place.

The match also witnessed a fantastic turnout from Lusail SC supporters, who made their way to the stands at Khalifa International Stadium to support “Al Khayala,” just as they have done in previous rounds of the Doha Bank Stars League. The official attendance for the match was 8,512 spectators.
